Installing, step by step

  1. STEP ONE

    Run the installer

    Open the file you downloaded. It installs for your Windows account only.

  2. STEP TWO

    Expect a publisher warning

    The beta installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows may say the publisher is unknown. Choose "More info," then "Run anyway." The app is signed before its public release.

  3. STEP THREE

    Sign in and set up your keys

    Sign in with your emailed code. The app makes your encryption keys on this computer.

  4. STEP FOUR

    Print your recovery key

    It is shown once. Keep it somewhere safe: without it or another of your devices, nobody can recover your matters, including us.

Updates

The app checks for updates itself. Each update is signed, and the app verifies the signature before it installs anything.

Check the file

macOS, iPhone, iPad and Android follow the Windows beta. The phone and tablet apps sign in to an existing account.
