NO AI · ENCRYPTED · THE COURT'S OWN RULES
Structure you can see. Citations you can prove.
Case Scaffold is the case-building application for litigators who need to prove, not just claim, that every citation was checked by a person.
At a glance
WHAT SETS IT APART
Built the way a careful litigator works, and nothing that works against it.
Five commitments, each enforced in the product rather than promised in a policy.
No AI. It cannot invent a citation because it cannot write one.
There is no generative or language model anywhere in Case Scaffold: not in drafting, not in search, not in the Check. Every authority in a filing traces to a card a named person entered and checked. Courts have sanctioned lawyers for citing cases an AI made up; this is the architecture under which that cannot happen.
- The Verification Record prints who checked each citation, when and with what
- Ready for standing orders on AI use
- A reproducible build your IT team can verify
Your files are encrypted before they leave your desk.
Every matter has its own key. Cards, drafts, exhibits and uploads are encrypted on your device; our servers store and relay only ciphertext and keep no readable copy, no text index, no preview. Search, the Check and compiling all run on your computer, online or off.
- A printed recovery key, and an optional firm escrow key
- Matters re-keyed automatically when someone leaves
- Bates stamps and productions indexed and searchable
Built to keep attorney–client communications private.
Clients sign in to a client space of their own: they upload documents, answer your requests and comment on what you choose to share. They never see the matter, your strategy or your notes. Email notices say only that something happened, never what. Outside experts see only what you share with them.
- Facts, exhibits and testimony can never be shared outside the matter
- Nobody sees a matter they are not on, administrators included
- A sealed conflicts check before a matter opens
Pick the court. Its law is already there.
A signed, versioned library of official text: federal and state court rules, local rules, pattern jury instructions, statutes, regulations and court forms. Choose the court when you open the matter and its rules load with it, district first, then circuit. Amendments adopted but not yet in force are shown with their effective date.
Your firm's format, court by court and judge by judge.
Keep house templates for each court and each judge's preferences, layered over the court's own rules: a template can tighten a rule, never loosen it. Bring your house style from your Word template. The tables of authorities and contents, separate statements, proposed orders and certificates compile themselves.
- Page and word counts against the court's own limit, with the rule named
- DOCX for e-filing; PDF with pleading paper
- Court forms filled from the matter's own data
HOW IT WORKS
Scaffold the case once. Every filing stands on it.
- STEP ONE
Open the case
Client, parties, court and judge. The conflicts check runs; the court's law loads.
- STEP TWO
Build the scaffold
Authorities, holdings with pin cites, facts with record cites, arguments, all linked. Empty places show.
- STEP THREE
Check the structure
An argument with no authority, an element with no fact, a binding adverse case left out: found before filing.
- STEP FOUR
Format and file
DOCX and PDF in the court's format, with the Verification Record beside them.
WHO IT IS FOR
Litigators who draft, and the people beside them.
Solo and small firms
Your own cite-checker, with a record that proves it.
Associates and partners
Draft in the structure; review what each argument rests on.
Appellate and criminal practice
Standards of review, record cites and elements, held to the rules.
Paralegals and clinics
Roles that fit the work; a student plan for law clinics.

Questions
Is there really no AI in it?
None. No generation, summarizing, suggested authorities or chat. Scanned exhibits can be read by OCR, which is labeled as such and can never be the source of a citation.
Can Case Scaffold read my matters?
No. Matters are encrypted on your device and our servers hold only ciphertext. We do see account emails, who belongs to which matter, file sizes and times; the Security page lists everything we can see.
Does it replace Westlaw or Lexis?
No. Research stays in your research service, under your own subscription and sign-in; every authority card opens its citation there in one click. Case Scaffold is not affiliated with Westlaw, Lexis or any research service. It is where the case is built and checked.
What does the beta cost?
Nothing. Pricing for the release after the beta is [TO BE ANNOUNCED].
